Reward Offered in Strain Murder


DUNCANVILLE, TX – A $10,000 reward is being offered by Oak Farms Dairy in connection with the fatal shooting of 74-year-old Duncanville resident Barbara Vincent Strain. Additionally, North Texas Crime Stoppers has also announced that they will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the person(s) responsible for this felony offense.
Duncanville Police is describing a possible suspect as a white or Hispanic male measuring 5’5” in height, average build, last seen running south from the scene wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
On March 6, 2013 at approximately 7:25 a.m. Duncanville Police Officers were dispatched to a shooting in the 1300 block of Highland Dr. Upon arrival, officers found Strain shot at the front door of the residence. She was transported to Methodist Hospital by the Duncanville Fire Department MICU where she was pronounced deceased.
