Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Now moving on for the year 2015! I was thinking about my new year’s resolutions. A new year often begins with good intentions, as thousands resolve to make positive changes in their lives. Resolutions are easy to make when one is toasting at midnight and ready to take on the world. But resolutions can be harder to keep as the days turn into weeks and weeks become months. There are several different reasons why resolutions fail, and recognizing potential pitfalls can help people stick with their positive changes throughout the New Year. One of the reasons a resolution fails is because they are unrealistic. They also warn you to not go it alone. So keeping that in mind, I have made two resolutions for myself and the citizens of Duncanville for the year 2015.
One is to work as hard as possible to make this city council hire a permanent city manager for the City of Duncanville. Each paper I will call for the removal of interim city manager, Lynda Humble. My second resolution is to remove the sitting council members who are up for re-election in May 2015 in District 1, District 3, and At Large.
Neither one of these resolutions is unrealistic. But I cannot go it alone; I need the help of the citizens of Duncanville! Together we can make my resolutions come true. We cannot give up too easily. I truly believe that the citizens of Duncanville are up for the challenge. These resolutions may require a little extra effort, especially in the early stages. But I know that the citizens of Duncanville are ready to make a change, and the longer we stick to the resolutions the easier it will become to make it a reality.
Let’s go Duncanville; we can make our town great again in the year 2015.
