DUNCANVILLE – The City of Duncanville, at the recommendation and in cooperation with the Dallas County Health and Human Services (DCHHS), will be conducting ground spraying against mosquitos on Thursday, September 12th and Saturday, September 14th from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. in the Highgate area. One positive mosquito trap pool for West Nile Virus was reported by the County in this area.
City Officials encourage all residents living near this area to remain indoors and to bring their pets inside during spraying.
City Staff will continue to monitor areas where mosquito breeding is mostly like to occur and encourage residents to protect themselves even after spraying by using insect repellent with DEET and to continue doing their part to prevent the spreading of the West Nile Virus by removing all areas of standing water, reporting all pools that are not well-maintained and abandoned homes where mosquitos are likely to breed to the Health and Code Enforcement Departments at 972-780-5041.
