Duncanville Police Investigating Death of 11 Month Old Boy

– Duncanville Police are investigating the death of Aaziyah Wright, an 11 month old boy in the care of a CPS foster family. A cause of death has not been determined by the medical examiner, but no obvious signs of foul play were seen report Duncanville Police.
The child’s mother, Miracle Washington, went to Child Protective Services for help when she was having difficulties and was afraid she would become homeless. Aaziyah was put into foster care while Washington secured employment and an apartment, after which she requested her son be returned to her custody.
Two days after her last supervised visit with Aaziyah, Washington recieved a call from a CPS supervisor telling her the boy had died.
Aaziyah was in the care of the Giocosa Foundation, one of the contractors used by CPS to arrange and monitor family placement and care. This is the first time a child has died under the care of the Giocosa Foundation who has been working with CPS since 1988.
A July 18th court date had been set to make the determination that Aaziyah could be returned to his mother’s care; it would have been his first birthday.
