Duncanville HS Trick or Treat Project Benefits UNICEF

unief_newsDUNCANVILLE, TX – Members of the Duncanville High School National Honor Society recently completed their annual fundraiser benefitting UNICEF. The money raised will help provide children in need around the world with clean, safe water, food, vaccinations, mosquito nets to protect from malaria, and the installation of water pumps to provide the necessary water supply for a whole village.
Duncanville High School National Honor Society librarian Mireya Zamora said her organization didn’t have a monetary goal in mind at first.
“After counting some of the money with NHS president Lauren Jameson, (sponsor) Ms. Cartmell told us that it was probably going to be around $500 or $600. I thought to myself, ‘Wouldn’t it be great if we could get $1,000? We could give so much!’”
The Duncanville High School National Honor Society collected more than their goal of $1,000, and are excited to see the impact of their trick-or-treat donations.
