DeSoto Library Thanks “The Quilters” for Decades of Service

DESOTO, TX – For almost forty years, a group of dedicated women, called “The Quilters,” have met at the DeSoto Public Library every Thursday (except holidays) to hand quilt. The women volunteer their time and talents to quilt five hours each week and can be seen at the quilting frame located in the Reference section of the library. Feel free to stop by and visit with them any Thursday from 10 am to 3 pm.
A fee is charged for the quilting. All funds received benefit the library, especially the annual Children’s Summer Reading Program. In addition, the funds are used to purchase items that the library needs for its services and projects but are not in the library’s annual budget.
If you have a quilt top or know someone who has one they would like hand quilted, please call the library at 972.230.9661. New quilters are always welcome to join the group. If you are interested in joining The Quilters, come to the library on Thursdays
The DeSoto Public Library deeply appreciates the decades of service this group has provided to the library and the community.
