DeSoto ISD Invites Community to Set Develop Future of District – ‘Accelerating Expectations 2020’

Along with the summits, an online survey will be available from Oct. 14-28 followed with narrowed focus groups sessions from Oct. 21-22. The survey will be posted on The summits, survey and focus groups are to ensure that all DeSoto ISD stakeholders have a voice during the input gathering portion of this strategic planning process.
Immediately following the input portion, a community-wide strategic planning committee comprised of citizens will review the data from all who participated in the community engagement phase. The team will use this data to develop the Accelerating Expectations 2020 strategic plan that will include a vision, set of beliefs, goals, and measurable actions to determine effectiveness along with a learner profile. The learner profile will outline the community expectations of what a graduate should be able to know and do. Accelerating Expectations 2020 will serve as a guide for the district as it makes future decisions regarding instruction, budgeting, staffing and facility planning.
As the district embarks on this planning process, all summits, documents and resources will be posted online at for community members to stay informed. The district will provide Accelerating Expectations 2020 updates throughout the process.
