Cedar Hill Pet Memorial Project to Hold Blessing of the Animals

CEDAR HILL, TX – The Cedar Hill Pet memorial Project will be honoring our kinship with all of life by having a Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, October 4th at 2 p.m.
The Blessing of the Animals, also known as World Animal Day dates back to St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and the environment. Francis’ devotion to God was expressed through his love for all of God’s creation. St. Francis cared for the poor and sick, he preached sermons to animals, and praised all creatures as brothers and sisters under God. St. Francis was born in Italy around 1181.
The public is invited to bring their familes and well socialized, leashed pets to join the celebration.
The Cedar Hill Pet Memorial Park is located at 1210 J. Elmer Weaver Freeway, Cedar Hill, Texas 75104.
